Who Is Jesus?

Who Is This JESUS Who Saved Bob’s Life?

Paul writes about who Jesus is in his letter to the Colossians, and this is the very same person whom Bob knows, and worships, and loves too.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.” — Colossians 1:15-23

If you want to know the truth and the way to real life, invite Jesus to take control. Do these things, and you shall be saved:

1) Cry out loud to God, and you shall be saved. (Acts 2:21)

2) Repent, and be baptized. (Acts 2:38; Peter 3:21)

3) By faith, be obedient to God. (Romans 1:5)

4) Trust in God. (Romans 4:1-3)

5) Trust in Jesus, not your own works. (John 6:28-29)

6) Grow in your faith. (2 Thessalonians 1:3)

What kind of faith does our Heavenly Father call us to? A faith like Abraham’s that we read about in Hebrews 11:17-19:

“It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, even though god had told him “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.” Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again….”

7) Thank your Father in Heaven. (Psalm 118)
